"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.
If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.
But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

There's something about the Covenant series that makes it so addicting. I finished Deity in one sitting and just couldn't get enough of it. Deity picks up shortly after the madness of Pure and works into the progress of Alex preparing for her Awakening. As her birthday nears, Alex starts to learn that Awakening isn't all that simple.

I'm just going to take a moment here and just soak in the awesomeness that are the characters of Deity. There's Alex who continues to grow into a fierce heroine, Seth who is, well, Seth, and Aiden who's still the loyal gentleman. I know that I went from Team Aiden to Team Seth, but Deity really messed with me. I'm not sure who I ship anymore! (But incase you were wondering, yes, I still ship Seth and Alex) There's also more Deacon, Luke, and Leon who I just adore! Deacon was always one of my favorite supporting characters and was glad when he made more appearances in Deity.

There were some up and down moments for Deity, but it was just as entertaining as the others. Now I'm counting the days until the release of Apollyon!

Overall: 4 out of 5
