Comfort Reads:
Which books do you go to for comfort & familiarity?
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Where She Went by Gayle Forman
I'm still not sure why I do this to myself. Every time I'm in need of some comfort I pick up If I Stay and Where She Went. It usually starts with tears and then not too long after I reach the stage of hard-core sobbing. These two books are also the only books that I've read more than once. I've actually read them more than three times by now.
Types of books I turn to for comfort:
- Paranormal
- Historical Fiction
- Anything consisting of assassins

Great picks. I loved both of these books and I'm thinking it's time for a re-read. These books definitely make me cry too. =)
ReplyDeleteI love both of those books too! It's funny, I accidentally read Where She Went first because I didn't know about If I Stay (yeah, I don't know how I managed that one lol). But they're such beautifully written books.. great picks!
ReplyDeleteI've read If I stay, and it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThese both are amazing reads, good choices! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! I've recently finished If I stay and I can't wait to start the second book. I need more Adam :D

Great answer. I enjoyed reading If I Stay, still have to read the second book. Thanks for stopping by earlier!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
OHmy goodness, I need to read these! I read If I stay two years ago, and I don't remember liking it at all. Maybe I was too young and didn't understand. But I really have to pick these up again! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is actually a surprising choice to me! The books seem pretty sad and definitely heartbreaking. I have yet to read them, but I can't wait to do that!
ReplyDeleteOh I wanted to like If I Stay and Where She Went but I just couldn't connect with them :( But agreed with anything containing an assassin! I just finished The Assassin's Curse and it was so good, pirates and assassins yes please!
ReplyDeleteOoh I haven't read those 2 you mentioned, so I'll have to look into them. Comfy reads for me include anything paranormal or a light, quick romance book.
ReplyDeleteGreat picks!!! I usually turn to If I Stay and Harry Potter
ReplyDeleteI still need to read these!!!
