Finding your eternal soulmate - easy.

Stopping a true-love-hungry evil - not so much…

After breaking a centuries-old romantic curse, Emma Connor is (almost) glad to get back to normal problems.'s not easy dealing with the jealous cliques and gossip that rule her exclusive Upper East Side prep, even for a sixteen-year-old newbie witch. Having the most-wanted boy in school as her eternal soul mate sure helps ease the pain-especially since wealthy, rocker-hot Brendan Salinger is very good at staying irresistibly close....

But something dark and hungry is using Emma and Brendan's deepest fears to reveal damaging secrets and destroy their trust in each other. And Emma's crash course in ├╝ber-spells may not be enough to keep them safe…or to stop an inhuman force bent on making their unsuspected power its own.

Things only get more entertaining after Emma and Brendan find out that they're eternal soul mates. The pacing in Spellcaster is faster, especially with a mysterious person plotting revenge on the couple.

I'm not the biggest fan of Emma and Brendan, but I did like that it's deeper and more developed in this story. Brendan is still swoon-worthy as well as sweet and Emma makes things a bit more interesting when she starts dabbling in witch craft.

The supporting characters were my favorite throughout the whole story. They were playful and amusing during those intense situations. My favorite supporting character is Angelique! Scratch that, make that my most favorite character. She's confident in herself and doesn't care much to what other people think of her. Angelique = kick-butt character.

Spellcaster is one of those reads that I didn't exactly like but didn't exactly dislike. The story was interesting with the new mysterious person who brings back some past memories. I still can't pin point my exact thoughts on what I thought of this book, but it was a light and enjoyable read.

Overall Rating: 3 out of 5

  1. Great review I really want to get into this series I love the sounds of the secondary characters especially. It makes a big different when there's a great full cast.
